Christians Attack Wicca and a Rebuttal

     From a Jesus site.
"In this article, we are going to examine some Wiccan beliefs and practices. Any objective person will find that Wicca is made up of fables, vain imagination, paganism, blasphemy, lies, tales, heresay, and a seemingly endless list of ceremonies, magick (sic), sabbats, etc. According to former Wiccan High Priest, Bill Schnoebelen, the serious practitioner of Wicca will find himself going to deeper depths which lead further into the worship of Lucifer aka Satan."

     And now my response to each claim:

     "fables, vain imagination" - I think a stick turning into a snake, a virgin birth and rising/raising of the dead fits here perfectly.

     "paganism" - this is from a religion whose followers bow before statues of a man on a cross, and commune at a meal symbolizing their god's flesh and blood.    Christianity arose from a cult of Mithra, a Persian deity in the form of a man, born on December 25 to virgin whose flesh and blood were consumed by followers in a symbolic meal of bread and wine.

     "blasphemy" - is there any greater blasphemy than to say that our creator burns souls in hell for eternity.  The Russian dictator Stalin didn't do what allegedly the Christian God does - eternal torture.

     "lies" - the Apostle Paul said it was OK to lie in the name of God, and that's what fundie X'tians are doing today in the Creation/Evolution debate.   Anyway, Xtianity is itself not true (the Bible contains many factual errors, like hares chewing the cud), so it's fair game.

     "tales" - the New Testament is full of them.  Xtianity is based entirely on tales, not on factual evidence.

     "heresay" - an exact description of the Virgin Birth and the Resurrection of Jesus.   We heard it said, we never witnessed it.

     "ceremonies" - baptism, communion, mass, hymns, etc. Xtianity isn't lacking in those things.

     "magick" - if you've been to an exorcism, where fundie Xtian believers cast out demons from a person in the name of Jesus, then you know what magic is.

     "Satan [worship]" - any god who tortures his creations in hell for eternity simply for their unbelief is a psychotic, insecure dictator, an evil demon himself. As I said before: Stalin tortured many people, but they would eventually be relieved of the torture by death; the Christian God keeps the victims alive in torment forever. I dare say the Christians are the worshippers of Satan.
